New Book!!

The Goose Girl

I don't know much about this book. I found it on the blogs belonging to two different Relief Society book clubs, so I thought it might be good. Lets start reading this one now!!

Ani and her world are vivid creations, ready to be shared during a long, quiet read.
If you enjoy fairy tale novelizations, such as those by Robin McKinley and Donna Jo Napoli, this book will make a great addition to your bookshelf. If you simply like historical fantasy, forget the fairy tale, this novel will also please. Royalty, deception, intrigue, treason, and redemption make up a story that doesn't obviously derive from a fairy tale.

So, I loved the book. I love the writer. Jennifer and Jenny, you should still read this book if you ever get the chance. It was very good. Great choice Katie!!

I love this Story

I really like this book, I love fairy tales, and how everything can be... as the author says

"Powerful, wonderful and ridiculous"

I wish that I could write like her!! I love how she does capture the imagination, and I love how in this book, the knight in shining armor is very much not what you expect.

Writing....

I love this writer! I honestly wondered why this long book was in the children's section instead of the young adult, but the author is so amazing at capturing attention. I love how she tells her story, and I'm reading, and so captivated and the world around me doesn't exist, and then she calls the attention back and speaks directly to me. She is a great writer. I'm loving the book so far. I also love Despereaux. His little personality just speaks to me and though I am not a rebellious spirit like he is, I wish I had his ability to do what I wanted, regardless of what those around me think. I love him! I am loving this book so far!

I love this quote, it's found in the beginning of the book! I think that you really can leave this world that isn't always nice, for a world written on paper! That is why I love books so much!! You get the chance to live a different life!! You can be a princess or a mouse, or anything you like. You can live in a magical world, or the future, or long long ago. I just really like this quote. Yet it has the feeling of something a little evil lurking in the darkness.
