Twilight Series?

I've heard so much about the "Twilight" books . . . has anyone read them? Maybe we could read the first one as one of our selections in the coming months.

The Goose Girl: What a wonderful tale!

I just finished this book this morning and thought it was a wonderful story, fascinatingly written. This is going in my collection of favorites and one I would recommend to anyone. Not only was it entertaining, it was addicting (as Katie said) and I read it in two days. I thought the transformation of the princess throughout the book and who she eventually becomes was an important lesson . . . that despite hardship and trials we may go through, we can come out stronger and wiser than before and that life is not always hard, but has its rewards for those who are faithful to who they are and what they believe in. I loved her relationship with the animals and nature, and it was a reminder to me that sometimes we have too much "noise" going on in our lives: TV, music, shopping, silly books, blah, blah, blah, and a preoccupation with unimportant things. I love the idea of spending more time LISTENING to what is really going on around you and learning from it. Bottom line: I loved it!

For those who have a chance to read it, let's talk about maybe doing a chat session through Gmail or something to discuss the book "in person." Or maybe we can do it the weekend of Leeann's wedding . . . just get together for a half-hour to talk about it. What do you think?

Part One

There are a few things that I would like to point out on this book. The last book that we read, started with a mouse who was born with his eyes open, and this book starts with a girl who kept her eyes closed for three days. I think that the next book we read should talk about a Elephant born with one eye open, and one eye closed.
I think my favorite character thus far into the book is Talone. I love the characters who are simple, He promised to server the Princess, and he does, no questions asked, there never is question with the loyal servents, and that is how I want to be.
Heads up for those who haven't started it yet, this book is addicting!!!
